Dentists' depend on having dependable schedules from their dental labs. The Dentists' office schedules the patients and the Dentist to accomplish the work efficiently and profitably. Labs must complete cases and have them shipped to the Dentists' office on schedule. If the case is late, the patient must be either reseated or rescheduled at the last minute.
At Dental Prolab, we have an innovative approach to scheduling your cases. We ask our Dentists' to call us prior to sending us the case. When they call, we enter the case information into our computerized lab management system, which gives us a Guaranteed Delivery Date. The Dentist then uses this date in scheduling their patient's next appointment. (If the Dentist sends the case without calling us first, we will call them with a Guaranteed Delivery Date.)
As cases are entered into the system, each procedure of the case is scheduled in the lab management system with due dates. We schedule this way to ensure that there is adequate time to complete each procedure without having to rush and compromise quality. As a result, we are able to track the progress of each case as it moves through the lab management system. The technicians update the lab management system as they complete each procedure. We know the status of each case and manage them so they are completed on time.
By using the lab management system, we avoid many of the problems of other dental labs. When other labs get backlogged, they push cases through the lab with more emphasis on speed than quality. Workers put in overtime and quality suffers as the pressure to meet schedule dates increases. Their quality can vary from case to case with many dental labs.
Because we schedule time for each procedure of the case, there is enough time to complete the procedure and maintain our consistently high standard of quality. We will not schedule too many procedures for a technician and risk compromising quality. We even schedule in a small amount of available time for the occasional "rush job" that gets sent to us. We realize that "rush jobs" happen and we try to accommodate them without compromising quality.
With our computerized lab management and scheduling system, we provide the Dentist with a Guaranteed Delivery Date for their cases. On the rare occasion (less than 1% of the time) that we are going to miss the delivery date, we will know ahead of time and call the doctor to reschedule the patient.
