Scheduling Cases and Delivery Dates
At DPI we have an innovative approach to scheduling your cases. We ask our Dentists' to call us prior to sending us the case. When they call, we enter the case information into our computerized management system, which gives you a Shipping Date. The Dentist then uses this date in scheduling their patient's next appointment. This will aid in the quality and consistency of our product, we limit the volume of completed casework each day.
When you call DPI on a case, we will ask what type of work and how many units are involved. At this time, the case will be assigned a shipping date. In the event the shipping or number of units change, we will notify you of the new shipping date. We prefer that you pre-schedule your cases. We schedule this way to ensure that there is adequate time to complete each procedure without having to rush or compromise our standard. If the Dentist sends the case without calling us first, we will call them with a new assigned date.
By using the DPI management system, we avoid many of the problems of other dental labs. When other labs get a case from a Dentist they go by the delivery date the Dentist has assigned to them to get the case back, this can conflict with their workload, which causes other labs to get backlogged. They push cases through the lab with more emphasis on speed than quality. The labs quality suffers as the pressure to meet schedule dates increases. Their quality can vary from case to case with many dental labs.
Because DPI schedules time for each procedure of the case, there is enough time to complete the procedure correctly and maintain our consistently high standard of quality. We even schedule in a small amount of available time for the occasional "rush job" that gets sent to us. We realize that "rush jobs" happen and we try to accommodate them without compromising quality.
In this way you can schedule your patients with more confidence that you will get a consistency of high standard of work. We average 10 working days on most cases. These time spans may vary due to our workload or the specialty of the case. With this method of pre-scheduling delivery dates, we can keep you informed on our out put at all times, taking the guesswork out.
Thank you for your cooperation, we know that this will benefit your practice and piece of mind. Please call if you have any questions or concerns with our scheduling procedure at 1-800-423-9634.
